Welcome!  You've arrived at the Wedding Page of John W. Smith, Journey's End Photography LLC.  I'm a free-lance photographer based in Golden, Colorado on the western outskirts of Denver, but I work throughout Colorado.  I will also consider assignments further afield, including destination weddings. My photographic style can best be described as flexible "portrait journalism."  It is a style well suited to wedding photography -- a creative blend of technical skill, artistic talent, and classic wedding portraiture, liberally sprinkled with photo-journalistic story-telling. My goal is to work closely with each bridal couple to get the best possible images of their wedding day -- images that tell the whole story, from start to finish.  Timeless images that will evoke wonderful memories for a lifetime.

Many wedding photographers specify they will cover only a limited number of hours for the much higher fees they charge, but I take a different approach.  I'll arrive on time and cover the entire wedding for my specified fee, no matter how late the reception lasts.  I use professional Canon cameras and lenses, I know what I'm doing, and I bring spares in case of equipment failure.

Rates

My rates for photographing Weddings and Engagement Sessions are based on a very simple concept — provide beautiful images and the highest quality service at an affordable price. You won't find high-pressure sales tactics here, and I won't try to sell you a huge wedding package that may not even meet your needs. Instead, my base fee provides a highly-inclusive list of products and services that includes items most wedding photographers reserve for their pricey "Gold" or "Platinum" packages, such as providing high-resolution digital images on DVD at no extra charge; unlimited hours of coverage on your wedding day; and no limit to the hours of post-production processing time I will spend to ensure that your Wedding or Engagement Session images meet the highest standards of excellence (mine and yours!). I will also provide my own assistant if the size of the wedding requires one, at no extra charge.

Of course, I will also print individual photos and/or build photo books and albums for you on an à la carte basis if you want them, but you have maximum flexibility to get the results you really want at the best possible prices. This is where my approach differs from most other wedding photographers — and you get the best value.
